There are so many ways to gamble in Las Vegas.  The most popular ones are described briefly for you:

• Slot machines- They used to be called one arm bandits, though now that they’ve gone electronic, you push a button instead.  .They come in every shape and them you can imagine!
• Video poker machines-  Similar to slots, but require some skill and decision making.
• Blackjack-  The most popular table game in the pit, it is a fast and easy game.  Because your decisions affect other players hands, they are not always friendly.
• Roulette- A social table game that requires a minimum bet and depends entirely upon luck.
• Craps- By far the loudest, most exciting, rowdiest, and friendliest table game in the pit…everyone playing wins or loses together.  This game of dice is a bit complicated and intimidates some.
• Baccarat-  the true form of this card game is not found in every casino.  It is played in a private room with high stakes.  But more casinos are now offering mini-baccarat, with much lower minimums, and played at tables right in the pit.
• Pai Gow- A type of poker that is played at a pit table against the house, instead of the other players. This is a very friendly and slow game, in which a best hand and a 2nd best hand are played against the dealer’s hands.  You can win both, lose both, or brush (tie) by each winning one hand; in which case no money is awarded to either.

But there is still much more.  Poker rooms offer many varieties of stud and hold’em, all of which are played against the other players, and not the house.  There are sports books, bingo,  and keno.  And new games, such as 3-card poker, Caribbean stud, let it ride, war, and ultimate hold’em, all played against the house, pop up in the pit regularly.
